Baby A's StoryThe nomination for Baby A left us in awe and appreciation for how many good people there are in the world. This inspiring family responded to a beautiful toddler girl that was in need of a foster home.
Unlike most girls her age, Baby A has many medical challenges that require around-the-clock extensive medical care. She has a long list of medical conditions that we are unable to share, but we at Cecily's Closet believe these angels are more than their medical charts, Dr. assessments, and medications. This little angel is precious and when we met her for the first time she was decorated from head to toe in pink... We witnessed her being cared for in the most loving way by her Mom and Dad - who see beyond the medical equipment and into her big heart. She is surrounded with love and an amazing family that not only accepted this little angel into their lives - they moved forward with plans to keep her in their lives permanently. This family of angels believes they were chosen to care for her and after meeting them we agree! We are so touched at how they have dedicated so much of their life to ensure their new addition receives the best medical care. This Mom and Dad are truly amazing and an inspiration to all of us that we can take on any challenge if we believe and have hope. Our team was delighted to help build a safe and comforting haven for their princess, Baby A. We wish we could do more! This little kiddo has had such a rough life and she is so lucky to have her new family watching out for her. We have a lot of people to thank for making this room so precious! A big thanks to our teen volunteers from TVIA for working diligently to make this room fit for a princess. Thank you to our amazing painting partner, PaintGreen - for once again providing the canvas for our beautiful makeover. And a big thank you to Murals by Grace Ann for the gorgeous headboard/mural that decorates the wall above where baby A sleeps. Thank you to Zina and family for donating the beautiful furniture and for Brien and Connor for managing to get it up the stairs and into the room! (This was no small feat!) And a special thanks to Julie and my Dad - it is always great to share these makeovers with the special people in our lives. We would not be able to help deserving families like Baby A without the support of our community. Thank you to our generous donors for making Baby A's "Sweet Dreams" makeover come true! Teen Volunteers in Action (TVIA)Thank you to our small army of teens from, Teen Volunteers in Action (TVIA)!
Teen Volunteers in Action is an organization of young men who, together with their families, participate in structured programs of volunteerism, philanthropy and personal development. TVIA believe that through volunteer projects like Cecily's Closet, that these young men will grow up to become strong community leaders. We had seven teens help with every aspect of the room – from painting the closet, to building the furniture, cleaning, and interviewing the family. We would like to commend them for their hard-work and we look forward to working with TVIA in the future! |
